And we’re back…

blue screen 2 And were back...

Yep, my 7 year old Gateway desktop passed on to computer heaven Thursday.  It was a sad day for me (that’s and understatement, but I’ll keep it clean).  I doubt I’ll bother spending the money to have it fixed. So, services will be held at the local Best Buy eRecycling center.  In lieu of flowers, donations for a new computer are being accepted.  LOL!

My Dad came to my rescue and rented a laptop for 2 weeks to get me past the holidays.  Heather, at the Rent A Center in Fountain Inn, SC asked, “So, what do you do?  Your dad said you are doing so wonderful with your business, he couldn’t let you go without a computer!”  Awwwww, thanks Dad!

One tough lesson to learn is back up, back up, back up! Yep, I thought I was indestructible! That most of my work was online, so I didn’t need to.  Every hour I remember something else that I have lost and it is really….  keep it clean, Jen!

So, my readers today I ask for your thoughts and opinions.  I’m looking into online back up. Opinions? Which ones?

Also, first of the year I’ll be shopping around for a new computer.  I’ve got my eye on an HP Pavilion thoughts? Have something  else to recommend?  Leave a comment, share you’re thoughts, I look forward to your opinions!

All the best!
Jen

Oh no!!! It really did die! :( Were you not able to get anything off of it before you recycled it?

*huge hugs* You know I just went through this, but they got stuff off for me, did they not offer for you?

    The HP looks scrumptious!

By the way… my gateway lasted 6 years. So sad they went under, they make great computers.

I feel your pain! I had an external hard drive completely bite the dust once, which resulted in the loss of 20 gigabytes worth of data…that was fun.

As far as online backup, I’ve used box.net in the past, but I don’t know if they’re still offering online storage like they were.

By the way, sorry for the double comment…please delete the first. I messed up the syntax on the KeywordLuv (thanks for that, by the way!)

man, i hate hearing when ppl lose data b/se of no backups. i use mozy. it’s very easy to use and pretty affordable. i also enjoyed the fact that you had a 7 year old computer. that’s a dinosaur – though i have a desktop about that old now. shows that you know how to take care of a computer.
