I dropped the ball last Monday. I wasn’t feeling so great and I spent the entire day in bed, barely keeping up with email and obviously not posting another great review and giveaway. However, Flaunt It! Monday is back this morning with another great green company.
EcoStore USA was originally founded in New Zeland fifteen years ago and is now branching it’s way over to the United States. It’s marketing tag line is “No nasty chemicals” they offer green and clean concentrated products at a wallet friendly cost. Their product line consists of Baby Care, Bath & Body, Hair, Household & Petcare. For Flaunt It! Monday I decided to go with hair. Why? If you have met me in person you already know that hair is a challenge for me. I have curly hair and LOTS of it! If any of their products were going to be put to the test, it was hair!
The products reviewed (from the site):
Rosemary Orange Shampoo: Combining nature’s best products and aromatherapy Ecostore USA has created a wonderful shampoo that will bring volume and life back to your hair.
Rosemary Orange Conditioner: Rosemary Orange Conditioner gives body to oily, lifeless hair. This gentle formulation is made with NO NASTY CHEMICALS that could possibly strip hair of essential oils.
Vanilla Shampoo: An alluring combination of eco science and aromatherapy our Vanilla Shampoo is nourishing for the scalp. This is an excellent product for chemically treated hair.
Vanilla Conditioner: Ecostore USA does not put damaging chemicals into their hair products. Using the finest therapeutic grade essential oils, the Vanilla Conditioner will bring life back to chemically treated hair.
They also added 2 bars of soap to the package. I have only used the LemonGrass Soap so far, but it smells awesome and lasts forever (which would be why I haven’t had the chance to open the second bar)!
I put these products to the test on my family and here are my thoughts:
Scent: Overall the Vanilla products were my favorite scent. Even my neighbor and Mother-in-law apparently sneaked a sniff when visiting the facilities since they both commented on the Vanilla Shampoo/Conditioners.
Shampoo results: Both shampoos worked equally well. They lathered up and washed well. My husband suffers from extreme dry scalp and even thought the vanilla may have removed the dry skin from his hair. A little goes a long way. I have had these bottles in my house for over a month and both are still a little less then half full. These are not HUGE bottles so that is pretty impressive with 5 people in the house.
Conditioner results: This is an area you will really make or break it with me. Conditioner in my hair has to be about the consistency of mayo to get any real results. Unfortunately, this conditioner was much thinner and it took huge amounts to cover my hair. It did work and made my hair soft and manageable, but the amounts used made the bottles disappear very quickly. That said, it DID work well on the rest of the family (since they are not a direct descendant of Carrot Top). Final decision, if you are blessed with normal hair and not a thick frizzy mop you are definitely good to go with these products!
