We will be building another (3rd) raised bed next month to accomidate more veggies in our yard . The more we can plant the more we can freeze and give away all year! I just used the last of my garden carrots from last summer. Last fall was the first time I tried the big harvest/blanch/freezing process thing. I think this is a great way appreciate the earth…see what it is capable of doing/providing, if we care for it. Besides it teaches my son the vaulen and wonder of plants.

we’re going to install and use the green cone (our neighbor had two) that is for composting food waste. Otherwise, food waste ends up in the garbage or disposal (using water).

If you have any rusty chromed metal, on a bicycle or scooter, for example – you can eliminate the rust with tin foil. Take used tin foil (folding in the used part) and rub the chromed metal and it will remove the rust and restore the shine.
This is a tip my husband learned from my 82 year old dad – never too old to reuse something while fixing without chemicals!

I try to find alternate uses for all packaging i buy. Most of the time it can be re-used in a totally unrelated manner that just takes a little creative thinking – and it keeps it out of the landfills.

I’m in Iowa we were flooded I have now a new use for a sump pump
And maybe some of you came or know of this idea but I was totally unaware until my neighbor came over to help in our rebuild. We used as
much as we could as reuse items we found at our second life store it saved us a bundle. The SUMP PUMP is now my flush, and laundry water it has cut our water bill in half thanks to our neighbor Our next project is a rain water collector outside so if the little garden needs a drink this is so much fun

    Thank You

I decided to start cleaning my windows with newspaper and waterinstead of windex. I heard it does just as good a job and does not hurt the environment.
