It helps that I moved from a 20 mile drive to a 30 minute commute by bus. It's even better that I live a mile from the park and ride. Of course the savings on gas is really adding up too! We have also been changing ALL of our lightbulbs to the more energy efficient bulbs. The costs change was hardly noticeable in the beginning. However, we have begun to notice a lower electrical bill. We have also been attempting to make our life greener, by not using chemicals to make our lawn greener. We use a more natural approach. Years ago, my mother used to save egg shells and coffee grounds. She used them in her gardening. Both were sprinkled around her roses. She had some very beautiful roses. I know that she did not think that it was "recycling" - she just was a depression era person who knew how to reuse.
