We have the smallest paved backyard I've ever seen, but there's still just enough room and sunlight to grow our own potted vegetables. They don't have much of a problem with bugs or such, because there's no other yards around us.

Who says you can't grow vegetables in the middle of the city!

Growing our own vegetables in the backyard for over 20 years in raised plots was the best idea we've ever had. It takes a little work, but it's Fun work. And, everyone who has dinner with us ALWAYS tell us how good the food tastes. We remind them that there NO chemicals to worry about, either!

I have to disagree with Keith about Compact Fluorescent Bulbs. Sure it sounds like they are green, but they contain deadly mercury. Mercury is a neurotoxin, and the companies and federal government haven't figured out safe and effective ways to dispose of or recycle the stuff. Plus, the bulbs break easily in the dumpster and in garbage trucks. Leaking mercury contaminates soil and make it unsafe to live in the area. Some states, cities and counties have outlawed putting CFL bulbs in the trash. So compact fluorescent bulbs are still a can of worms and can pollute the environment.

I'd like to suggest a great natural household cleaner that benefits wellness -<a HREF="http://essentialoilworld.com/essentialoilreviews/thieves-non-toxic-cleaner-for-natural-cleaning" rel="nofollow">Thieves Natural Cleaner</A> - it's green, biodegradable, powerful and healthy.

I wish organic produce didn't cost so much. It is awful that poor people can afford boxes of mac-n-cheese but not quality food.
