Hey everyone!  Missed you and hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I may submit to one more turkey plate, but then the dogs may have a little feast themselves.  It’s a far cry from the garbage they insist on getting into, so I don’t think they will complain.

So, here we are with another company growing green.  First a little naked truth about the Naked Binder. Naked Binders a company committed to creating durable, beautiful and useful products that leave less of a footprint on the earth.  They believe that long life, strength and beauty go hand-in-hand in the fight against an ugly, cheap, disposable society.  We are constantly working to improve our products and processes, looking for ways to cut down on waste, travel and packaging.  Everything we use in manufacturing and shipping Naked Binder products is either recycled or recyclable.

They are proud to be part of “1% for the Planet” and donate 1% of their net sales to organizations working to preserve the environment.

The Naked Binder sent me 3 of their products to check out (descriptions from site);

Naked Binder: Unclad, unclothed, undressed. This may be the greenest, most eco-friendly binder on the planet. It is made from 100% recycled board, 97% of which is post-consumer waste. No decorations.  No plastics.  No vinyl.

Wrapped Binder: Maybe going naked isn’t always appropriate, so we’ve created an elegant and tasteful binder option using only paper, board and a metal 3-ring mechanism.

Project Binder: The Project Binder is a Naked Binder with a bit of a modest side. It sports a spine wrap of durable library-grade 100% cotton book-binding cloth applied with non-toxic glue to add color and protection.

I want to start with the site itself.  It is a very simple and clean site, but maybe it’s just me – they have one heck of a writing team!  Who knew you could get excited reading about binders!!  I can tell this group has a real passion for the products they design and want the consumer to make an educated purchase! BRAVO!

The products are… naked, no colorful vinyl, inks, pockets.  A binder with rings in it’s most simplest form.  Yet, they are strong and functional, non-toxic and according to their site anything that is not indestructible is recyclable! They’ve been tested, made as energy efficiently as possible and the company is open and honest about their claims.  The only con I can offer is I am a D-ring Gal and all the products seem to be O-Ring.  But now that I work at home and make every attempt not to print, I can’t really complain. Correction:  They do offer D-ring… no cons!
