In my Picking Directions post, I wrote about my personal goal to be more organized in 2009. I am notorious for letting mail pile up and even scribbling notes on the back of envelopes, only to forget where I wrote it later on. So when I was contacted about reviewing one of several calendars offered by GreenOfficeStore.com I thought this would be a good way to get my note taking more centralized.

So, far I have stayed committed to this little black book. Even asking people to hold so I can find it when I feel myself drawn to a the back of a blank envelope within reach. A description from the site:

Dated weekly appointment book/planner features a two-page-per-week spread with ruled daily ruled blocks in a horizontal format, no appointment hours, simulated stitched cover, current and future months reference, Julian dates and a two-color format in black and blue ink. Ranges 12 months from January to December. Nonrefillable. Bookbound weekly planner is printed on quality recycled paper with 30 percent post-consumer material.

Now, my thoughts:

Pros: I think it is a good size for me, which is why I picked it. I have very little desk space and anything larger would have gotten in the way. It is also small enough to fit in your purse if you need to take it with you. Spaces for each week day are large enough for my notes. The cover states they use soy based ink (this is not stated on the online description). Overall, it looks good and serves it’s function.

Cons: it’s only 30% post-consumer material. There is no reference to what material is used for the cover. I feel if Dayminder is truly looking to offer a “green” product they can do better in these 2 areas.

If you are interested in trying this product you can find it here. Or shop for other great products from the GreenOfficeStore.

All the best!
Jen

Good Monday morning! It’s been pretty dang chilly in SC, we even had a few snow flurries the other night!! Hope everyone is staying warm. Time to feature another great company growing green.

Radius is a small natural products design company in the USA. Most well known for its innovative toothbrushes, RADIUS was started by entrepreneur Kevin Foley, an architect now product designer. Kevin one day decided to start on a new journey. And Radius was born. Radius is dedicated to having fun with design to make life better. And that’s IT. Radius is not a product. Radius is a lifestyle. Love Your Radius. Love your Life.

Radius is another company I came across on Twitter. I was given the opportunity to check out their SOURCE tooth brush.

I’ll begin with customer service. My box arrived in the mail with not just my toothbrush, but 2 toothbrushes and 2 types of floss & 2 travel cases! They really went beyond my expectations, I had so many neat things to try!

The product: I have been using the Source toothbrush for almost a month now and I am very happy with it. This is what Radius tells us about the Source:

93% Recycled Material – 47% Renewable Resource

Replaceable Heads + Wooden Handle = Only 7% of toothbrush wasted as compared to 100% of ordinary toothbrushes.

Wooden Handle is molded from recycled wood bio-plastic resulting in 100% renewable resource.

New lightweight unbreakable replacement heads made from surgical-grade nylon.

Dramatically increases softness and efficacy of brushing with 65% more bristle tufts than ordinary toothbrush.

Reversible for both Right or Left handed brushing – Available in soft or medium bristles.

Handle lasts forever. Simply throw the heads away!

I love the bristles, it really gives coverage I have not had in my typical toothbrushes and makes a great tounge scrubber! The design is unique, functional and eco-friendly all the way down to the packaging made from recycled plastic soda bottles.

Now I have to admit, I was a little nervous about the cranberry floss. I love cranberries; in a muffin, class of juice or on my plate on Thanksgiving. However, I guess I’ve been a little brainwashed when it comes to brushing. When I think of paste and floss I think of minty fresh! So, why cranberry? This informative site give us a little insight:

Coated with pure unsweetened cranberry essence, which is removed during the action of flossing and deposited on the gums to help break up plaque. The floss is spun in natural beeswax to help sliding through tight spaces.

Research has shown that the proanthocyanidins present in cranberry essence are effective in reversing and inhibiting the clumping of bacteria that cause plaque and subsequently may help in maintaining good oral hygiene.

Plaque is considered the major source of pathogens that cause gingival irritation and periodontal disease.

So, there is a method behind the madness! Alas, I gave it a try and I really don’t taste anything. Now it’s a matter of getting religious about using it. I’m trying Dr. Reynolds, I really am!

Overall, I am really happy to have found this product and the Radius site. Radius is currently running a Winter Sale and all products are 25% Off with FREE Shipping for orders over $50! And, just to make things a little sweeter for one lucky reader Radius is giving away a Source toothbrush! So, go check out Radius and come back here with your thoughts or product wish list. Mine’s the 6-pk kidz brushes!

For addtional entries, spread the word: blog it, twitter it, stumble it, whatever and let me know what you did in seperate comments for each one you did.

Finally, If you’re not signed up for my RSS feed do so. That way you don’t miss out on any Flaunt It! Mondays! Yep, another entry, too!

I will announce a winner on Wednesday, Nov. 26th. Good Luck!

And the winner is!!

Here are your random numbers:

I am so psyched that I won this giveaway! After trying all three products, I am hooked!

First of all, I am a already a self-proclaimed lip balm addict. Now that I’ve tried the Lip Service Lip Balm from Cactus & Ivy, I cannot go back to the “old” lip balm any longer. I always thought my old lip balm was so great, but Lip Service feels so much better, less waxy and so much more softening.

Along with that I also won the Cactus & Ivy Peppermint Tree Foot Balm and the Butter Me Up Body Balm. WOW! The Foot Balm is so soothing. What a great way to drift off to sleep at night, with this soothing peppermint foot balm under your socks. I love it!

The Butter Me Up Body Balm was even more surprising. I could not imagine how this body balm could be better than the lotions that I use. Boy did it blow them all away. It’s getting very cold here in New England, and I have a bad habit of taking very hot showers in the morning to warm up. That dries my skin out so badly that I then usually load up on body lotions. They just don’t last though. I have to reapply and reapply throughout the day. Not with this body balm. I put it on in the morning under my pants and my legs stay so soft and moisturized ALL DAY LONG. No need to reapply at all. I am fascinated and hooked.

Thanks so much for the great products! I LOVE THEM!

Appreciatively,
Rae Lynn Glispin of Kidz Comfort
