Flaunt It! Monday: ScienceAide & ecosmart world

whiteboardnpen1Good Monday Morning! Today I am doing a double review and giveaway. It was just meant to be, these products came together by fate. See first, I was introduced to ecosmart world products. They make non-toxic eco-friendly whiteboard markers. As much as I would’ve liked to do a review their product I had nothing to use them on so I had to decline. Fast forward a few weeks and Jaysond of ScienceAide introduces me to their reusable scratch pads. Hello?? So here they are let’s check them out!

I was introduced to this super awesome reusable scratch paper from ScienceAide. I love using this whiteboard scratch paper while on the phone with clients or doing internet research. Just write, erase and reuse, over and over.

auspen007Then Eco Smart World has these equally great refillable dry erase pens. These dry-erase pens are recyclable, refillable and xylene free (one of the most toxic chemicals in the world and found in most disposable dry-erase pens) Each starter kit is equivalent to 246 pens

The kit also comes in 6 colors with refill ink and they don’t stink! Yah, you know that nasty dryerase pen stink! Apparently that comes from the toxic xylene.

Now as much as I love these two products I have to admit I haven’t had a whole lot of opportunity to use them.  Yep, the girls have taken them over, I have 1 sheet for me… that’s it.  But on the other hand I’m not having to dig up used paper for them to color on, right?

Ok, so 1 winner gets the whole deal, the scratch sheets and the pens!

  • Visit ScienceAide or ecosmart world read and learn, then comment here about a point that interested you.
  • Blog about this giveaway and link back to this post.
  • Tweet this giveaway
  • Stumble this giveaway
  • Use other forms of social networking to spread the word about this giveaway.
  • Subscribe to my feed to stay up to date with the latest from Eco-Office Gals.

A winner will be picked randomly on 3/25/09. Leave a separate entry for each one you do and US residents only, please. Good Luck!

Here are your random numbers:

Hi! Question! I’m in LOVE with the scratch paper idea. I have to take organic chemistry next semester and I’d love to use the organic chemistry reaction sheet along with the markers. I know i’ve missed the giveaway but is there any location that these can be purchased?
Thanks so much for any answer!

By using their markers, you will never throw away another disposable marker into your local landfill. You will also not be exposed to the toxic chemical Xylene, which is used in the ink of the traditional disposable markers (that’s what that smell is when you take the cap off). Thank you so very much for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway!

I’ve been in some classrooms where the professor would have to keep opening new markers (because the old ones would just wear out so quickly) and the smell of the solvents would curl the hairs in your nose — hadn’t known that eraseable markers are one of the most prevalent toxic waste components in landfills, with over 500 million of them thrown out over (some unstated period of time I ~really~ wish they had included)… “Refillable” seems like an “Aha!!” kinda thing, somehow.

Refillable soOo works for me — our younger son is autistic, and one of the few ways we successfully structure his day is to write out a schedule… but if it isn’t mostly “exactly the same” it distracts him from the daily goal(s) and doesn’t work as well — so white-board-equivalent eraseable pages (using permanent marker for the “exactly the same” portion) fills a need, absolutely!!

In my university, we already use the scratch sheets or reusable scratch paper. The value of this product is tremendous just because it really does reduce the amount of paper that I used in my science and math courses. Apparently schools from elementary, high school all the way up to college are places that throws the most paper away because of practicing problems (writing it over and over again to memorize) and random quick notes. In college you cant escape this, we literally have to rewrite things over and over to be able to memorize our subjects. Thus, by using these scratch sheets it can really allow our world to go green by reducing paper waste. As for the refillable markers. I would love to be able to use those with the scratch sheets. I still have 2 years in college left and having these markers and reusable sheets can def. contribute to a green world!

I want the markers so i can show my professors! I just want to know if its convenient to refill i think I rather buy since we are always press on time but I’m really curious about its practicality. But if it helps with the environment its def valuable.
