Is your Air Conditioning System having a Negative Ecological Impact?

After a scorcher of a summer we are all grateful for that hero that saves us from the sweltering heat. It may be while we are at the work place, making sure our PC and our brain does not over heat, or maybe while we are at home as we get back from working outdoors in the stuffy summer air. Air Conditioning has become a necessary item for many and with the ever growing concern for our environment; you may wonder what type of impact these will have on our ecosystems. Man’s ever growing economical need and daily activities seem to be leaving their stamp on our climate and carbon emissions seem to be rising, despite our growing awareness of these issues. If you are looking to install an Air Conditioning System or you already use one and are not sure how to check the efficiency of your product, let us give you a few tips to help you along your way.

Ozone Friendly Old Friend?

If you have a system that has been with you for years, it is worth upgrading it to a newer model even if it is in good working order. The fact is that older Air Conditioners contain a refrigerant called R22 which is now banned the EU. Systems containing R22 will be unserviceable by next year and it will be very difficult to get parts for them if needed. If you choose reputable air conditioning services (airconditionsservices.com) to check your equipment they can tell you if your system contains R22.

Inspect your Gadget?

Make sure you have a service on your Air Con at least once every 3 years. By law they are required to be serviced every 5 years on any product that emits over 12kw. This will ensure your system is running at its best and using energy in the most efficient way.

Co2 Emissions?

As with any electrical product, the more we use, the bigger the carbon footprint we leave. Use your Air Conditioning as you need it and don’t overdo it unnecessarily. It is worth noting that in the US alone they emit on average 100 million tons of Co2 each year using theirs.

Get it Right?

To make sure that you play your part in keeping your space green and your surroundings Eco Friendly, ensure that you choose a service that will provide responsibility and reputation. Many Air Conditioning companies lack consideration for our worlds environment when distributing their equipment, yet slowly but surely we see a gradual need for awareness that seems to be taking effect. By looking online you can find an Air Conditioning Service that respects all things Green and it is well worth taking the time to search out one that is. Think of it, you are enjoying the cooling effect of your new Air Con Unit, yet that sinking feeling of the world around you getting hotter and hotter and what that will do for our wonderful home sets in. Choose wisely and save our future!
