Yes Green – not red, or more recently I turned everything a dark blue jean wash, but green as in less chemicals and waste in your washing routine.
That’s what I did last weekend – DIY laundry soap. I had seen many recipes on pinterest for DIY laundry soap, I have tried a great batch made by Sweet & Woodsy, but I never tried my own, so I figured I’d give it a try.
I used a very simple 4 ingredient recipe I found on Sugar Pie Farmhouse. The only addition was a bottle of laundry scent booster, possibly killing some of the green efforts, but I like my laundry to smell good and I reused the container for the laundry powder once it was finished.
Once the bar soap was all grated (and my coffee grinder blade was busted) it was simple as could be, just mix all ingredients. I have a huge container and it only uses 2 table spoons per load.
I’m looking forward to not having to buy laundry soap for quite a while, it cleans as well as store bought, smells great, and minus the laundry scent booster, it’s over-all less chemicals tearing up our cloths and draining into the septic tank.
