Being eco-friendly is at the top of the list for a lot of entrepreneurs at the moment, as lowering their carbon footprint can help them to save money in the long run. Being green can boost brand image as well, especially as a lot of people are choosing to only work with eco companies these days.
Every aspect of your office will need to be switched out for an eco-friendly alternative if you really want to go green. So, you might want to take a look at these five environmentally friendly office supplies:
1) Recycled printer paper
In the past, buying printer paper made from recycled products could have cost you more than buying a non-recycled version. This was because there weren’t that many companies producing eco-friendly printer paper, but that’s a thing of the past now.
Printer paper can be made from recycled printer paper, cardboard, newspapers and other waste materials.
2) Staple-less staplers
This handy product can cut out the need for staples altogether, as they work by weaving a tiny section of the paper together. They could save you quite a bit of money during the year and your documents will still look just as professional.
3) Recycled notepads
Most office workers need at least one notepad they can use to jot everything down. Be greener by offering them notepads made from recycled products and choose ones that are made from as high a percentage of recycled materials as possible.
4) Sustainable pencils
If you need a regular supply of pencils, choose ones made from sustainable wood sources. That way, your employees will be able to use them safe in the knowledge that they aren’t contributing to deforestation.
5) Recycled pens
Plastics can easily be recycled and reworked into pens that you can use in your office. Both consumer plastic and manufacturer plastic can be used in the process, but at the end you’ll still get a pen that works perfectly!
Extra handy hints:
If you really want to go green, use tablets instead of notepads, pens and pencils. While they can be expensive to buy initially, they will certainly pay for themselves when you see how much you can save on your stationary costs. Also, make sure you position recycling bins throughout your workplace to encourage your staff to recycle.
Transforming your office into a green machine doesn’t have to be difficult and, as you can see, finding eco-friendly office supplies is actually pretty easy!
